First of all, i would like to show my gratitude to Miss farah Ai'ni for her hard work teach me. I was not interested in IT at first but after she taught me Introduction To E-learning, I realize that it is important nowadays and I begin to gain interest in IT sphere.

Twitter Vs Digg

Twitter and Dig is a free social networking and micro blogging service that enable its users send and read messages known as tweets. Both of this social networking was presented by my class members. Actually, during the presentation I was impressing and want to have twitter account because we will have tweets and it can access through the hand phone. However, it only can write 140 characters. “It is too short”!!!!!!. The message that has been posted by us also can be edit by another person…So, I have changed my mind. Suddenly, presentation about Digg and being Digg affected will probably bring you some new incoming links from sites that found your content interesting. It sound great but If our site or blog is hosted in a host with certain bandwidth, we should be very careful with Digg effect as it is very easy, if you get tons of visits, to overcome your allowed bandwidth. Also too many queries in your database can cause your site to be temporarily unavailable or even cause serious problems to your server. Lastly, I decide to loyal to blogspot .com because the security that it have very good.

Acronym

Acronyms is abbreviations that are formed using the initial components in a phrase or name. These components may be individual letters or parts of words . There is no universal agreement on the precise definition of the various terms nor on written usage . While popular in recent English, such abbreviations have that always use by netizen.

Eventhough some people said that it is wrong if we use acronym because it will make damage that language but netizen have their own reasons why they use it. First, easier to them to write a message. Second, by using acronym it will save the space. So, it depend on ourself to use acronmy whether it easy or hard when use it.

Cyberspace

Computer is 1 to 1 communication which between computer and person. However, with the technology that we achieve nowadays, we can interact with people across the world. Actually, internet also provides a virtual space or cyberspace for people to interact. Here, the user can change their identities to be a new personalities, genders and backgrounds as their wish. So, their online friends may never truly “know” who they are. In the class we are divided into 9 groups to present the online games that we have chose. My group has chosen girl sense games that focus more to female teenagers. This game is about fashion. From these games, the teenagers can know more about fashion in term of become fashionable. As a result, come on girl play this game and you will really enjoy it !!!!!!

Cyber language

Today I have learned about cyber language. It means language of net. This topic very interesting because the term that use in net has different meaning in our daily life. Therefore it becomes fun when we compare that meaning with our daily language. For example, cookies as we all know it is biscuit but in cyber language means letter or numbers that the web server store in a file on your hard drives. It sound funny right???. That is why the whole class laughs and excited to find another word and share together. Another word that I want to share is Zip, in cyber language it means create a compressed archive from one or more files but in daily life zip is a device for fastening clothes.

Worm? A computer virus!!!!!!

Worm was distributed by via the internet and had been written by student at Cornell University, Robert Tappan Morris and launched on November 2, 1988. A computer worm differs from a computer virus because it spread by itself. Actually, a virus needs a host program to run and virus code runs as a part of the host program. However computer worn can spread without a host program. The example of computer worm is Melissa worm of 1999. This worm shared some features of a Trojan horse, which are they spread enticing a user to open an infected e-mail attachment. So the best medicine to cure this virus is not opening attachments in your email. These attachments are not limited to EXE files. Microsoft Word and Excel files can contain macros which infection.

Netiquette

Actually being a user internet there are standard that should follow by us. Before that let me tell you about the term that I have learned just now. Term that use for people who live, work and spend time on internet is a NETIZEN.

Netizen = Net + Citizen

Being netizen, we have to follow the rules called as attiquette. It gives means that the atiquette guidelines for posting messages to online services. This is important rules that we should obey because it follow the standard to communicate with other. It is more to focus on mixed of common sense and coutesry. The example of netiquette guidelines is reply quickly because people will expect to receive a reply within a day. Another example is, password management. Here many people do this mistake by use login name, information easily obtained like birth date, plate number as their password. It is wrong because it give advantage to trace our password.

Oh God….Presentation???...? ABout Podcast

For Decom students it is a normal have presentation in front of class. However, this presentation becomes a little weird because I have to present in front of my new classmate. So for this time I and my group who is Ain, Nadiah, Mastika, Aida and Mira present about podcast. Actually podcast is an audio or video file available on the internet for user to listen or to watch. By using podcast user can use a computer connected to the Internet and the computer have a program that allows the users to subscribe to, manage and listen or watch favorite podcasts. The advantage that we got when have podcast is reach a new audience. People like to consume media differently, so including another media option could help users reach new audience. Unlike video podcasts, audio podcasts allow a listener to multi-task, so users could end up listening on the way to work on while they browse the web. It means we don’t have to go to U-Tube again to find our favorite music or video because we already have podcast. The presentation going very well even though I feel nervous but I have done my best. The thing that I can’t forget is I got good feedback from my member that said my voice loud and clear. So, thanks to all who support me….Before end this is the screenshot about podcast.

G’s Family

Actually I have a task where to find what are exactly GPRS, 1G, 2G, 3G, 3.5G and 4G. Some of G’s family is new to us bit we more familiar with GPRS and it related with our life which us hand phone. So, I want to share the information about GPRS. GPRS is anon-voice value added service that allows information to be sent and receive across a mobile telephone network. GPRS give a lot of benefits to us like we can surf the net, emailing, all thought the mobile. We also have a fast transimission of text documents, spreadsheet, photographs and can having a round the clock net connection, even when you are on the move. However, there are limitations of GPRS like limited cell capacity for all users. It means use for one purpose precludes simultaneous use for another. By having GPRS in our phone we can chat, textual and visual information, still image, audio, and many more with our phone.

Search Engine

In the E-learning class I was learn in deeply about search engine. Before this if I use the internet the search engine that I always use is Yahoo and Google. However, I was a little bit surprise because there are a lot of search engine that has it own disadvantages and advantages. For example, Bing, Duck Duck Go, Dogpile and many more. I’m really impress about Dogpile because it interface it really interesting and enjoyable when use it. I also had a assessment where to compare the two search engine that we like and explore more about it. So, I have a great time when exploring the variety of search engine in the way to find the most that I like.

Must or being force???

First time I saw the list of subject of semester five I’m so worry because I’m not interested in IT subject. So thanks to God because we have choice to choose whether is in IT classes or Marketing classes. At that time, I can smile and really happy because I will absolutely choose Marketing class. However, when I study the subject that I have to register I found that there is one class IT which is CSC 5253. So, what I have to do just??? Just follow it because it is the “compulsory” subject for everyone. I have to follow it. Sound like force right??.. Unfortunately, first time in this class I really enjoyable. This subject was taught by Miss Fara Ai’ni and she manages to make me having fun during the lesson session. It is really attract me to attend this class next time and I also want to make one admitted that I already fall in love in this subject. I hope that I will get ‘A’ in this subject. Moral of the story don’t judge the book by it cover.
